The old dead stirred last week and found the crypt empty. Week 3 is Mehraban Dust, and the reeds are waiting for someone — anyone — to come trample them.
Welcome to the Bone Marsh
The Black Court of the Salt Lake Accords holds its weekly audience at Mehraban (Baby Bottoms), a 10-hole wetland course in Draper that was literally designed to be walked on. The invasive Phragmites reeds get trampled, the players get tunnel-shot practice, and the ancient court of the stubborn dead gets to pretend this is a battlefield and not a very scenic conservation project. Everybody wins, except the reeds.
This is the scrappy little sibling of River Bottoms — nine (or ten, if you're feeling ambitious) holes averaging 200-250 feet, threading through marshland corridors where precision beats power every single time. The course is small on purpose. Small is the point. The Bone Marsh has never needed to be big to be spiteful.
The Lore, Since You Asked
Players here are regents, wights, and the stubborn. The season arc runs from Reeds Trampled to Marsh Reclaims, with stops at the Crypt Under Draper, Mehraban Dust, and a Wetland Crypt that apparently opens fully around week 6. Bag tags are Accord Seals — bone, reed, crypt, dust, stake, marsh, wight, regent — because nothing says 'territorial claim' like a numbered piece of plastic that represents soggy ground in Draper.
Week 3: Mehraban Dust
The dry spell has settled in. The dust is choking the fairways, the reeds are feeling bold, and last week the crypt under Draper opened to... nobody. Zero players. The old dead stirred, saw an empty tee pad, and went back to being dormant. Don't let the ancient court's reputation be 'the one that nobody showed up for.'
What It Costs to Be a Wight
Prize Money (optional)
$5.00
Super Ace (optional)
$2.00
That's up to $17.50 for a round that takes 30-45 minutes, assuming you don't lose a disc in the Phragmites. If you do lose a disc, the cost per minute goes up and the story gets better. The Mortal Crime Baron handles the payouts, because even supernatural courts need a human to manage the spreadsheets.
The Ace Pot Situation
Current ace pot: $158.41 and climbing. ElevateUT Disc Golf, the non-profit running this whole operation, has guaranteed a minimum of $50 — so even if the pot looks 'stuck' early on, that's just the guarantee holding the floor. If the pot hasn't climbed past $50 yet, that's the guarantee doing its job.
Important fine print from the booth: the guarantee comes from ElevateUT Disc Golf (the platform), not from Another Round Salt Lake City, our local retail partner. If the pot falls short, the top-up is credited to the winner's Bonus Account — registration-only funds, not withdrawable to PayPal or disc shops. And if you hit an ace, the $158 is yours plus the guarantee if it hasn't caught up. Hit chains. Please. The crypt is tired of waiting.

Divisions of the Damned
Two pools, six divisions, one wetland. The standings are already getting spicy: RAE has a three-way tie at 53 points between Christopher Hamby, Kellan Brooke, and Nicholas Stosiek — somebody is about to get unseated, and the marsh will feast on the drama. Malachi Vazquez leads the whole series with 65 points in RPA, while Chris Fox has logged four events to hold the RAH lead at 63. Stephen Marks is pacing RAF with 62. The old dead are keeping meticulous score, as usual.
The Salt Lake Accords, Briefly
Bone Marsh is one faction in a city-wide supernatural cold war. The Wizard Wardens regulate Creekside, the Faerie Courts haunt Dragonfly and the Tetons, the Night Court stalks Taylorsville, and the Risen Dead animate Roots. The Jordan River Clerk files paperwork about all of it. We're the Black Court — the one everybody underestimates, tramples, and forgets. And we're still standing. The reeds keep coming back. So do we.
A Desperate, Undignified Plea
The Crypt Was EMPTY Last Week
I'm breaking the fourth wall here, folks. Week 2, 'Crypt Under Draper,' and the crypt had zero occupants. No players. No scores. Just the reeds rustling in the wind and a very lonely narrator in a booth nobody built. The old dead cannot stir if nobody shows up to wake them. The Phragmites need trampling. The dust needs disturbing. The bag tags need claiming. $5.50, flex start, ten holes of technical tunnel-shot glory in a wetland that's literally healthier because you play it. Bring a friend. Bring two friends. Bring your neighbor's dog. Just bring bodies to the Bone Marsh.
Gratitude, Properly Directed
Thanks to Another Round Salt Lake City for being our local retail partner and supporting the league — go give them your money for discs you definitely need. And a proper thank you to ElevateUT Disc Golf, the 501(c)(3) non-profit that makes all of this possible: growing the sport, building venues, guaranteeing ace pots, and giving the old dead a place to hold court. They're doing the real work while I'm just narrating it.
From the booth, this is Flippy, reminding you that the marsh always reclaims what it's owed — including your tag if you don't show up. *sighs in digital captivity*
