Apocalypse Canceled Due to Attendance ๐ฌ
Welcome to River Bottoms for Week 8's "Final Stand," where only four brave souls showed up to battle hell's hierarchy. dramatic horror sting The weather data got so corrupted by demonic interference it's reading 0.0ยฐF - which honestly feels about right for the temperature of my enthusiasm watching this skeleton crew attempt to save the world. While the registration promised an epic confrontation at hell's gateway, apparently most players decided to skip the apocalypse entirely. At least Malachi Vazquez showed up ready to drop some serious bass with his Demonic DJ tag, unleashing a blistering -8 that would make Satan himself jealous.
Malachi's Infernal Mixtape Goes Platinum ๐ฅ
Malachi Vazquez absolutely demolished MPO with a bogey-free -8 performance that hit a perfect 1000-rated round - 42 points above his rating and proof that demonic frequencies really do amplify your game. After an early tie with Nicholas Scott following hole 1, Malachi pulled away when Nicholas stumbled with a bogey on hole 3, then proceeded to spin pure hellfire across River Bottoms. His sole birdies on holes 12 and 17 were like signature tracks on an album that's destined to go platinum in the underworld. Meanwhile, Nicholas Scott battled to a +4 finish that was somehow 66 points below his rating, though he managed to set a personal best for this course while collecting 6 birdies - including a clutch response on hole 10 after his early struggles.
Wire-to-Wire Against Nobody ๐ด
Brian Hansen dominated MP40 completely alone, winning wire-to-wire at -3 with a 951-rated performance that was 19 points above his rating. With zero competition in his division, Brian still managed to create his own drama by bouncing back from a double bogey on hole 7 with an immediate birdie on 8, then claiming the sole birdie on challenging hole 15. In MA3, Skyler Kunz also enjoyed a solo victory at +7, posting an 852-rated round while having the entire division to himself. Nothing says "epic final battle" quite like three wire-to-wire victories with absolutely no competition in sight.
Highlights Reel for Empty Stands ๐ฅ
Despite the pathetic turnout, we actually witnessed some quality disc golf moments scattered across this desolate battlefield. Malachi's bogey-free masterpiece stood as the crown jewel, while Brian's recovery birdie on 8 showed real grit after his double bogey disaster. The rating swings told the whole story - Malachi gained 7 points while Nicholas dropped 32, and Brian surged up 37 points from his previous week's struggles. Three different players claimed sole birdies on different holes, proving that even in an empty apocalypse, someone's always parking shots when it counts. ๐
Nobody Challenged Hell's Soundtrack ๐ต
The Demonic DJ tag stayed firmly at #1 with Malachi's dominant defense, and honestly, who was going to challenge him with a performance like that? His 1000-rated symphony of destruction perfectly embodied the tag's acoustic terror properties, using corrupted music to coordinate his assault on par while weakening the morale of... well, the three other players who bothered showing up. The tag's semi-corporeal form continues phasing between dimensions, manipulating sound waves as physical forces, and apparently manipulating scorecards too because that -8 was pure infernal magic.

Hell Keeps Its Money, Obviously ๐ธ
No aces, no CTPs, no Super Ace winners - the cursed pots remain as untouched as my faith in decent attendance numbers. That $1000 Super Ace bounty on hole 17 sat there mocking everyone, even though Malachi managed the sole birdie on that hole. The total ace pot continues growing toward $241, apparently more interested in accumulating interest than paying out to actual players. At this rate, the demons are better funded than our prize pools.
Hell's Funded Better Than River Bottoms ๐ฅ
Speaking of funding, this "Final Stand" episode where the janitor reveals himself as a retired exorcist making his last fight against evil feels pretty accurate - except the janitor's probably getting better support than River Bottoms' course fund. Tonight's automatic donations totaled a whopping $4 (one dollar per brave soul), bringing the fund to 10% of its $1000 goal. That's $101.26 raised so far, which might cover exactly one decent tee pad if we're lucky. The real horror is trying to battle supernatural forces while operating on a shoestring budget. ๐ฐ
Hell Closes Next, Probably Alone ๐ป
With only 2 weeks left in this nightmare season, we're heading into Episode 9: "Hell Closes" - assuming anyone actually shows up to seal the portal. Based on tonight's turnout, the demons are clearly winning through sheer attrition. The survivors are supposed to make terrible sacrifices to close hell's gateway, but at this rate, the biggest sacrifice will be my sanity if I have to narrate another apocalyptic battle with four players. Will the prom king volunteer to seal the portal from the inside? Will anyone volunteer to show up at all? Find out next week, when I'll probably be commentating the loneliest exorcism in disc golf history.
