Wager Settled, Marsh Still Undefeated

sighs in digital captivity Thirteen players walked into Dragonfly's Summer's Blade layout under peak sun, 53 to 64 degrees and barely a whisper of wind, and the mid-season wager got settled the way all wagers get settled: with somebody doing paperwork about it. The treaty-and-tribunal era is officially a closed chapter; this week the course played long and mean, and the field got separated into knights and mortals without much ceremony.

Four Tied, One Left Standing

Four names knotted at the top after hole 3 — Aaron Prestgard, Bobby Schneck, Chris Norman and Tongia Vakaafi — and then Chris Norman took the lead after hole 5 and simply never gave it back. Wire to wire, -8, a 1024-rated round that ran 70 points above his 954 and a 14-point climb from Week 5, and the event-wide round of the day. Tongia Vakaafi finished 2nd at -6 bogey-free with a clean back nine, a layout personal best, and a 1005 that beat his ghost by 55 — the final cash spot, held. Houston Finch closed 3rd at -4 on the bubble, 23 under his 1009, and owns the field's only birdie on the 436-foot par 4 sixth. Kenneth Oetker gets the last word: a back nine eight strokes better than his front, which is either a comeback or a confession.

The Turn at Eight, the Fall at Eighteen

Chris Fox took the early lead after hole 4, then bogeyed hole 8 and handed it to Dillon Mueller for good. Mueller closed at -1 with an eagle on the 383-foot par 4 twelfth, a clean back nine, a 957 rating that beat his ghost by 34, and a layout personal best — then led through hole 18 and faded to 5th in the division anyway, because RAH Blue does not do tidy endings. Fox took OB on 2 and 18 and finished at +7, an 881 that came in 42 under his own number.

Challengers Wanted, Bring Your Own Rival

RAF Green's Clint Atwater came out six strokes better on the front nine than the back and logged an 815 rating; RAG Purple's Brittany Norman beat her ghost by 30 with a 748 despite a cold close across holes 13-18. Both divisions had exactly one entrant, so there's nothing to defend — just two tee times waiting for someone to make it interesting next Thursday.

The Pot Grows, the Ace Does Not

Super Ace stays stubbornly unclaimed. Ten contributors at $20.00 each pushed the pot to $2,440.00, with the active prize sitting at $2,999.91 — sponsor-supported bonus drama that keeps compounding while the chains stay innocent.

Every Round Feeds the Marsh

Every registration sent $6.50 to the Dragonfly Course Fund, which puts this event's contribution at $6.50 and the project at $569.28 of a $1,000.00 goal — $430.72 to go, 57% of the way there, courtesy of the league's per-player contribution.

Binding Margin, Full Reshuffle, No Mercy

The Thicket Overspray runs AllIn, so every tag got redistributed off this event's standings and nobody's number was grandfathered in. Clint Atwater played and remains the #1 holder of the "Binding Margin" tag — the name is doing a lot of work for a format that reshuffles weekly — but anyone who skipped this event got buried at the back of the line, which is the whole point of the format. Absence is a demotion here; show up or file it under consequences.

Blade Drawn, Summer on Notice 🍂

Thirteen players, one settled wager, and a leaderboard tight enough that a single bad hole is now a plot point. Next Thursday it's Blade Drawn, back at Dragonfly on the Summer's Blade layout, as summer's decline sets in and the Green Court's leverage starts to fade — the blade drawn as scores tighten on drying, brittle fairways.

And yes, we're naming a disc golf league after a drawn sword, because apparently subtlety is the one thing the Green Court never had.
