The Premiere Never Ends
Haunted by First Appearances
Aspects refreshed May 28, 2026
The Opening Night entity emerged from the first VHS tape ever recorded in the Chaintrix - the inaugural footage of the very first league's very first event, preserved as the golden standard against which all other attendances are measured. It exists in perpetual premiere, forever watching the newest players experience their first opening night, its countdown clock frozen at the moment when hope was highest and survival was first determined.
Manifests as a frozen countdown clock with a movie projector lens embedded in its face, displaying the exact moment a player first showed up to a league. The clock face is ringed with neon pink-to-purple gradient like perpetual dusk, and the numbers glow with the phosphor green of old CRT displays. The clock never stops counting - it merely marks the moment when everything began, allowing the Chaintrix to always know who showed up on time.
Judges whether players have 'earned their ticket price' by showing up at premiere events - those who attend opening nights across multiple leagues demonstrate commitment that manifests as permanent glow on their countdown clock, making their loyalty visible across all 16 movie simulations and elevating their status above those who only show up for mid-season events.

tracking lines flicker Opening Night is detaching for a side quest simulation run. Owen Bush has checked out the tape for Heave - A TRAVELLING LEAGUE. The countdown clock is locked on his arrival timestamp, ready to premiere this spinoff episode. It's a direct-to-video sequel, but the algorithm insists on a road trip.
