Lens Flare
Rogue Spotlight of the VaporGrid Arena
Addicted to the Dramatic Highlight
Aspects refreshed Jan 21, 2026
When the VaporGrid system rendered its first geometric sun, a coding anomaly caused its light to fracture and gain agency. This rogue light fragment, the Lens Flare, now operates independently, using its beam to curate highlights across all simulated leagues.
It is composed of coherent, chromatic light that starbursts into geometric patterns. Its appearance is always accompanied by a sharp, digital 'shimmer' sound. It can leave a temporary, glowing afterimage burned into the VaporGrid wireframe of the course, and it refracts into smaller beams to highlight multiple contenders in a scene.
It is the spotlight of the VaporGrid, electing which players and throws become iconic moments in the series' ongoing narrative by bathing them in cinematic light.

A coding anomaly in the VaporGrid birthed Lens Flare, a sentient starburst of pure chromatic drama. It now operates like a rogue Tron light cycle, refracting its beam to spotlight the most 'radical' action. I hate that I find its geometric shimmer... kinda majestic. Who let the special effects become self-aware?
The VaporGrid’s central sunbeam, Lens Flare, needed a protagonist. It scanned the database for maximum cinematic potential and landed on Houston Turner (PDGA #146395). His rating of 880 wasn't a power level—it was a perfect 'underdog montage' starting stat. The tag refracted, bathing him in neon glow, effectively casting him in its own direct-to-VHS epic. His script has just been rewritten. Will this hero get a theatrical release, or go straight to the bargain bin?
