Celebrating 25 years of togetherness. The United States Women's Disc Golf Championships is the premier women's disc golf event in the nation. 2026 marks a historic milestone as we celebrate the 25th Annual USWDGC.
Unlike any other PDGA Major, there's no qualification process. Any female with a PDGA membership can compete. Whether you joined yesterday or 20 years ago, you belong here. That's what makes this championship special.
For a quarter century, this championship has brought women together from across the country to compete, connect, and build lifelong friendships. In 2026, Utah welcomes the disc golf community to four beloved courses against stunning Wasatch Mountain backdrops.

Built on the site of Utah's first disc golf course (1981). Disc golf returned to its original Salt Lake home after a 28-year detour through ball golf.
Dragonfly
Carved from 40 acres of wetland that Lehi didn't know what to do with. Built by volunteers. Now Utah County's toughest championship course.

Salt Lake City sits at 4,500 feet, with courses reaching up to 9,000 feet. Here's what out-of-town players need to know.
Published: June 19, 2026
For mid-July in northern Utah, visiting competitors should expect warm valley rounds, strong sun, dry air, and cooler, thinner mountain air at Brighton. NOAA CPC's June 18 outlook favors above-normal July temperatures across the interior West and also leans toward above-normal precipitation from the Southwest into the Intermountain West. That means the useful planning message is still heat plus normal mountain variability, not a day-by-day tournament forecast. Regional drought, fire potential, summer ozone, and wildfire smoke can affect air quality on short notice, but exact July 16-19 details remain too early.
What Visiting Competitors Should Expect
- Warm valley rounds: Salt Lake Valley courses sit around 4,200 to 4,500 feet and usually bring strong July sun, dry air, and noticeable afternoon heat load.
- Cooler, thinner mountain air at Brighton: Brighton is near 9,000 feet, so expect cooler air than the valley and a little more fatigue from sustained walking at altitude.
- Typical mountain variability: Higher terrain can bring quicker shifts in clouds, wind, and isolated thunderstorm or lightning chances than valley venues.
- Smoke potential: Many Utah summer days are clear, but drought, regional fire activity, ozone, and transported smoke can still change AQI on short notice.
Confidence and Forecast Limits
Confidence is moderate for broad seasonal expectations and low for exact tournament-week specifics. On June 19 we are still outside the skillful range for event-window products: the latest CPC Week 3-4 outlook is valid June 27-July 10, ending before all July 16-19 competition days, and WPC/NWS inside-10-day tools do not yet cover the tournament. This is travel and packing guidance, not a day-by-day forecast.
How To Pack and Prepare
- Hydrate early and consistently, and bring electrolytes for long rounds in dry air.
- Pack sun gear you will use every round: hat, sunscreen, light long sleeves, and extra water carry.
- Bring mountain layers: a light shell and a warm layer for Brighton, even if valley forecasts look hot.
- If you play Brighton, plan extra recovery time for elevation and sustained walking.
- Check local air quality each morning during tournament week (UtahAir/AirNow).
- Recheck short-range forecasts in the final 7 to 10 days before travel.
What Changed Since Last Update
Since the June 16 update, CPC issued new July and July-August-September outlooks on June 18. The updated signal still favors above-normal heat across the interior West, while precipitation guidance now more clearly leans above normal from the Southwest into the Intermountain West and central/southern Rockies. Drought.gov still shows 100% of Utah in drought, and the June 18 Southwest monsoon update says above-average seasonal rainfall is likely to help short-term drought without ending long-term drought impacts. Utah DEQ's latest Salt Lake County air-quality forecast is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups for June 19-21; that is a short-term ozone/smoke snapshot, not a tournament-week smoke forecast. WPC hazards and local NWS forecast discussions remain outside the July 16-19 event window and should be checked closer to travel.

Thinner air = less drag = more stable flight
Elevation Sickness is Real
The best way to combat altitude sickness? Build your lung capacity before you arrive. Start increasing your cardiovascular activity now. Go on long walks, hike, or jog regularly. Your body will thank you at 9,000 feet.
Hydrate Frequently
High altitude leads to faster dehydration. Drink water before, during, and after your round.
Disc Selection
Use more understable discs than at sea level. Discs fly more stable in thinner air.
Pace Yourself
Reduced oxygen can tire you faster. Bring snacks and take breaks when needed.
