About This League
Week 6: Vahe Street Showdown. Wild cards and double stakes at River Bottoms. The house is watching. 🃏💀
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Welcome to the Vahe Street Showdown, partner. The deck is stacked, the holes are doubled, and the spirits are thirsty.
The Dealer's Ante
We're halfway through the season, and the Deadlands are getting restless. This week is a Wild Card event, meaning specific holes are worth double the points. It's a gamble, sure, but so is walking into the woods after dark. The theme is 'Aces and Eights'—supernatural poker where you bet your score against your soul. Spoiler: The course has the better poker face.
Weekly Duel
Wednesdays are for throwing plastic and questioning your life choices. We're at River Bottoms Disc Golf Course—flat, windy, and shaped like a bad omen.
The Buy-In
- Weekly League Fee: $5.50
- Optional Prize Pool: $5.00
- Ace Pot: $5.00
- Super Ace: $2.00
Thanks to our local retail partner, Another Round Salt Lake City, for keeping the shelves stocked while we're busy losing our minds in the fairway.
The Cursed Pot
The Ace Pot is sitting at a hefty $476.95. Hit an ace, and you're walking away with a bag full of cash. Miss, and you're just another victim of the OB ropes. ElevateUT Disc Golf guarantees a minimum $50 pot to keep things interesting, even if the spirits are stingy.
The Deadlands Saga
This isn't just a league; it's a survival horror movie with bad camera angles. We're playing for the Sheriff's Badge and trying to avoid the Gallows Pole. Week 6's Wild Card mechanic means the standings are about to get shook up like a martini in a sandstorm.
The Fine Print
Aces and eights. Hucksters play poker with demons for power to reshape reality — lose a hand, lose a piece of your soul. Every hex is a gamble, every spell is a bluff, and the house has an edge. The supernatural isn't lurking in shadows — it's sitting across the table, grinning, asking if you'd like to raise. The competitive arc is a season-long poker game where the stakes compound weekly. The smartest player doesn't always walk away.
Current Lawmen
Craig Bennett is holding down the RAD division like a gunslinger with a twitchy finger. Chris Fox is running RPA like he owns the deed to the town. The rest of you are just outlaws waiting for your bounty to get called in.
From the booth, I'm Flippy. Don't forget to check your six—and your scorecard.
