Week 10 · Final Clearance
Welcome to the Containment Zone. I'm Flippy. My objections are also filed in triplicate. The fresco is cracking, the season is ending, and the Old Ones are coming back to audit our record-keeping — which, given some of the scores I've seen, should be a fascinating declassification.
Drop zones mean fewer 'lost to history' discs, faster rounds, and better flow through the woods. This is the kind of upgrade that outlasts every bag tag in the league. Genuinely, sincerely, no-bureaucratic-caveat good work by the ElevateUT Disc Golf community.
The 'Art' in Art Dye is not a name. It's a literal fresco of extraterrestrial contact — Sego Canyon petroglyphs rendered in High Renaissance splendor, a divine hand reaching from fresco clouds, and it happens to be wearing an astronaut's glove. The Old Ones left this behind. The question is whether you're reading it as scripture or as a flight manual.
This course was built on a former landfill. The Old Ones didn't just land here — they landed on top of our trash and left art. That's either profound or the most on-brand Utah thing ever recorded. Either way, the par 54 technical woods will humble every interpreter who thinks they've cracked the code.
Two pools. Six divisions. Every tag is a security clearance, and every challenge is an audit. Pool A files under RPA, RAH, and RAD. Pool B files under RAE, RAF, and RAG. The letters look like someone dropped the filing system down a flight of stairs, but the hierarchy is real.
Beat someone with a lower number and you've breached their security. Lose and your clearance gets stamped REJECTED in carbon black. It's just plastic tags in a park, but the paperwork makes it feel like a Cold War thriller.
The buy-in feeds the war chest, which gets distributed at the Final Audit based on clearance levels. The optional pots are exactly what they sound like: more money, more drama, same plastic.
Current ace pot: $447.55 and growing. That's a lot of unclaimed chains. The Old Ones are either impressed by our restraint or hoarding the payout for themselves.
Fridays, July 3 through September 4. Ten episodes. One location. Flex start with tee times from 7:00 AM to 5:20 PM — choose your own card, set your own alarm, and interpret the fresco at your own pace. The Old Ones have waited millennia; they can wait for your tee time.
It's Week 10 — the Final Audit. The files are closing, and some of them are already stamped. In RPA, Chris Fox holds the top clearance with 415 points over 26 events. That is a lot of Fridays. Malachi Vazquez trails at 309, but at this point in the season, the gap reads like a fresco crack that's too far gone to patch.
The real knife fight is in RAH, where Zack Markarian (50 points) just edged past Tyler Romney (49) for the top slot. One round. One point. That's the kind of margin that gets redacted from the official record out of embarrassment.
