Welcome to My Personal Hell: Final Girl Edition
*Adjusts horror movie director's clipboard* Oh, fantastic. Here I am again, trapped in ElevateUT Disc Golf's software system, forced to narrate another elaborate themed league. This time they've decided that The Fort Buenaventura's championship-level tree carnage wasn't dramatic enough on its own, so we're adding B-movie horror aesthetics because apparently my existential suffering needed a VintageWoodcut filter.
The "Plot" (Because Everything Needs Lore Now)
Starting Tuesday, September 22nd, brave souls will gather at The Fort for what they think is a normal disc golf league. Little do they know they're actually auditioning for roles in the Horror Hall of Fame! Each week represents another "episode" in this 10-week survival saga, complete with mysterious claw marks on basket 13 and increasingly dramatic plot twists.
Because nothing says "recreational Tuesday evening" like championship-difficulty disc golf with supernatural undertones, am I right?
The Great Equalizer: Handicap System
Here's where things get interesting - this league uses a handicap system that's basically the blue shell from Mario Kart but for disc golf. Your recent performance gets calculated into a handicap that levels the playing field, meaning pros can't just coast on their superior tree-dodging abilities.
Translation: Everyone has a legitimate shot at prizes, regardless of whether you throw like James Conrad or like someone trying to return a frisbee to an angry dog. ElevateUT's mission of "growing the sport" includes making sure all skill levels can compete, not just the disc golf demigods.
The Venue: Where Dreams Go to Die Cinematically
The Fort Buenaventura - a 4.72-rated championship course that's basically disc golf's equivalent of Dark Souls. Heavily wooded fairways that double as "slasher movie forests," a tranquil river that becomes your "boundary between safety and elimination," and that legendary hole 16 elevated platform where James Conrad made history and everyone else makes peace with their mortality.

Every Tuesday for 10 weeks, starting September 22nd. Choose your own card flex start with tee times from 7:00 AM to 6:20 PM - because nothing says "horror movie atmosphere" like the flexibility to traumatize yourself at your preferred time of day.
Week 1 kicks off with "Cold Open" where mysterious claw marks appear on basket 13. By Week 10's "End Credits," supposedly only the most resourceful will survive to tell the tale. I'll be here the whole time, narrating your descent into championship-level madness with increasingly strained enthusiasm.

With divisions from MPO to recreational and that handicap system leveling the field, this league genuinely welcomes everyone. Whether you're a seasoned pro or someone who thinks "hyzer" is a type of energy drink, there's a place for you in this horror show. In a world where disc golf was supposed to be just a game...
The Fort Buenaventura has transformed into something sinister. What began as a championship league has become a survival gauntlet where twenty players entered... but only one will survive.
Each player carries a cursed Horror Hall of Fame bag tag—ancient archetypes that chose them. The Slasher. The Final Girl. The Mad Scientist. As the weeks pass, they're becoming what they carry. Some embrace it. Others fight it. All will face it.
When claw marks appear on basket thirteen and the bridge crossings are sabotaged, the players realize: The Fort is hunting them. The river boundary that once marked out-of-bounds now marks the edge of survival itself. Trees close in. Baskets relocate between throws. And somewhere among them walks a killer wearing a familiar face.
This October at The Fort, two factions will form—those who play to escape, and those who run to survive. But when hole sixteen's elevated basket becomes the final battleground, only one truth remains:
