Welcome to Shallow Graves, where the dead walk, demons talk, and apparently nobody walks through the registration door. Week 4 brings us 'Arena Whispers' - that voice in your head offering shortcuts? Yeah, that's the demon. Also me, Flippy, trapped in this broadcast booth wondering why a league this good has the attendance of a morgue.
What You're Signing Up For
The Harrowed are undead who walk with a demon riding shotgun in their corpse. Not mindless zombies - gunslingers and outlaws who clawed out of the dirt with memories mostly intact and a passenger whispering terrible suggestions. The horror isn't death - it's that they almost remember being alive. Each week the demon's grip tightens and the line between who you were and what you're becoming gets thinner. This is the Shallow Graves experience. This is what you're avoiding by staying home.
The Attendance Situation (It's Bad)
The Arena Experience
The Arena is Utah's longest and most technically demanding championship course. Dramatic elevation changes, high-desert terrain, commanding views of the Salt Lake Valley. Hole names like Hawk's Descent, Rooster's Revenge, and Royal Plunge. This is not a casual putt-putt course. This is where you go to lose your soul - or at least your disc in the sagebrush.
The Price of (After)Life
- Weekly buy-in: $5.50 - the cost of admission to the possession
- Ace pot: $5.00 - your ticket to immortality (or at least $261.95)
- Prize money: $5.00 - because demons respect cash payouts
- Super ace: $2.00 - for when a regular ace isn't cursed enough
- Full experience: $17.50 - cheap for a shot at a tag that proves you existed
The Hexed Relic ($261.95)
The ace pot sits at $261.95 and climbing. ElevateUT Disc Golf - our 501(c)(3) non-profit facilitators - guarantees a minimum $50 ace pot. If player contributions fall short, they cover the difference. This means the pot may appear 'stuck' until contributions exceed the guarantee. Any guarantee top-up is credited to the winner's Bonus Account (registration credit only - not withdrawable cash). Another Round Salt Lake City is our local sponsor partner, but the ace guarantee comes from ElevateUT Disc Golf, not the shop.
The Undertaker's Ledger
Craig Bennett leads the RAD division with 175 points from 9 events. The man has attended more weeks than some of you have played disc golf this year. Either he's fighting the demon hard or he's already lost and the demon really enjoys The Arena's elevation changes. Chris Fox leads RPA with 174 points over 8 events - a consistent threat. Dillon Mueller holds RAH at 111 points over 8 events. These are your Unbroken - ranks 1-5, humanity intact, demons held at bay through sheer stubborn attendance.
The Wanted Tag System
Ranks 1-5 are The Unbroken - still fighting the passenger. Ranks 6-20 are The Struggling - the internal war is raging. Ranks 21+ are The Vessels - the demon won, congratulations, you're now a supernatural gunslinger. Currently our Vessels category is sparse because we need more players. Every tag tells a story of possession and resistance. Your story starts whenever you show up.
Still Time to Get Buried
Nine weeks at The Arena. We're at Week 4 - Arena Whispers. Six weeks remain. Week 5 brings New Sycamore Noose, where a rival player loses control completely. Week 9 is Arena Reckoning - the demon demands total surrender. Still time to join. Still time to lose your soul. Still time to throw plastic at chains while a supernatural entity critiques your putting form. Late joiners welcome - the demon doesn't discriminate.

General Notes
All fences play out of bounds. All paved surfaces (roads, parking lots, asphalt paths) play out of bounds.
Mandatory cactus relief: When disc lands in cactus, take relief immediately behind with no penalty stroke. Stack rocks at cactus base to increase visibility and protect desert vegetation.
Red layout players have right-of-way on shared holes.
Standard penalties apply: OB (Rule 806.02) play from last in-bounds point with one penalty stroke. Hazard (Rule 806.03) play from position with one penalty stroke. Mandatory relief areas (Rule 806.04) have special rules per hole.
Note: Hole 2 plays as Par 5 for Blue layout (Par 4 for Gold).
