Ravensong Vigil

High Concept

Herald of the Eternal Culling

Trouble

The culling never ends

Supporting Aspects
Ravens gather at my back The dust forgets the weak I judge without mercy

Aspects refreshed Apr 27, 2026

The Ravensong Vigil emerged from the first culling - when the weak were first separated from the strong, their dying breaths became the first notes of an eternal song. The ravens that witnessed this primordial judgment absorbed the screaming of the fallen into their very being, becoming the eternal record-keepers of the Deadlands. Now they sing the names of survivors and the silence of the forgotten, their chorus echoing across every league and every round.

The Ravensong Vigil exists as both shadow and sound - a supernatural entity that manifests as a raven made of swirling darkness outlined in faint golden light. It carries the memory of every score ever recorded in the Deadlands, a vast ledger of survival and failure. When bearing this name, one can hear whispers of impending cullings through its haunting melody, though the warnings come only to those the Vigil deems worthy of remembrance. Its presence causes all ravens in the vicinity to gather, drawn by the supernatural song that resonates with their ancient instincts.

The Ravensong Vigil acts as a supernatural guide for competitors, singing warnings of impending cullings to those deemed worthy of survival while remaining ominously silent to those marked for elimination. It reinforces the Deadlands' core law - that the weak get culled and the strong get remembered - through its eternal chorus, making it an instrument of the frontier's will rather than a neutral observer. The bearer carries this burden, becoming both prophet and executioner in the endless cycle of judgment.
