The Signal Dropout was born when the first VCR in the Chaintrix experienced tracking failure during a critical survival broadcast. That moment of magnetic corruption became sentient, existing in every subsequent transmission as the entity that reveals what gets lost in the noise. It is the Chaintrix's unavoidable truth - the proof that not even perfect recording can hide what was always there.

Manifests as horizontal distortion bands that appear across any recording when the Chaintrix tries to hide player presence. Can only be witnessed when official recording systems fail - the dropout IS the testimony. Carries the accumulated magnetic residue of every eliminated player, making it a repository of forgotten fates.

The Signal Dropout serves as the Chaintrix's ultimate witness, appearing precisely when official recording systems fail to reveal what the clean footage conceals. It transforms technical failure into binding testimony, making the dropout moment more authoritative than any pristine recording.
