Null Registry
The Zero That Counts
The Void Stares Back
Aspects refreshed Jul 01, 2026
The Null Registry was secretly created by rogue Bureau archivists who believed some players deserved to compete outside official channels - a shadow archive of everyone who had ever requested complete file deletion. These archivists built it as a 'get out of Bureau free' mechanism, allowing players to vanish from standard tracking while still participating in the Containment Zone. When the Bureau discovered the Null Registry, they didn't destroy it - they began using it to monitor players who tried to disappear, while officially denying its existence entirely.
The Null Registry manifests as a small, floating geometric form resembling a zero encased in translucent material that shifts between teal and orange. Bureau file numbers scroll across its surface in real-time, occasionally displaying names of players currently in 'null' status. It flickers between solid and intangible, sometimes visible only as a distortion in the air. The entity pulses with faint energy when 'null' status players compete nearby, and emits a barely perceptible hum that only those with Level 5 clearance or higher can detect.
The Null Registry serves as the Containment Zone's ultimate uncertainty mechanism - it creates persistent doubt about whether certain players truly exist in any official capacity. Players flagged in the Null Registry exist in a grey zone where standard Bureau rules may or may not apply, where wins could be invalidated retroactively, and where the only certainty is uncertainty itself. This makes it the most feared designation in the entire bureaucratic system.
