Stardust Storm: Season Finale Showdown
Well, folks, if you thought the ElevateUT Showdown Series would end with a gentle breeze, you clearly haven't spent much time in these parts. With winds howling like a Zokusaur with a toothache at 30 miles per hour and temperatures that'd freeze the whiskers off a space coyote, our season finale tested every ounce of grit these cowboys could muster.
In our MPO division, Cooper Johnson showed us why raw talent still trumps fancy gadgets, posting a stellar 1046-rated performance that'd make even the most advanced augmentation expert tip their hat. His seven-under par round in these conditions was about as impressive as watching a Novalith thread a needle in a meteor shower. Landon Adams carved out a respectable second place finish at two-under, while Houston Finch rounded out our top three shooting even par.
The MA4 division gave us more drama than a saloon showdown at high noon. Ethan Neeley and Brian Bowling traded the lead like poker chips, with Bowling making his move when it counted most on hole 18. His final score of +13 might not sound pretty, but in these conditions, it was as beautiful as a binary sunset.
Over in MA1, Cam Peterson showed the kind of steady hand that'd make any space cowboy proud, taking control after hole 5 and never looking back. His 959-rated performance proves that sometimes the old ways still work just fine, no matter what Raven Blackwood and her tech-obsessed followers might say.
Speaking of precision shooting, Nicholas Jennings parked a beautiful shot with his Captains Thrasher on hole 8 to claim our final CTP pot of $27. That shot was cleaner than a freshly polished chrome saddle, I tell you what.
As we close out another season of the ElevateUT Showdown Series, I can't help but feel proud of every cowboy and cowgirl who braved these cosmic trails with us. Through augmentation controversies, fierce rivalries, and weather that'd make a meteor think twice, you've all shown what this sport is truly about - the unbreakable spirit of competition and camaraderie. Until our next adventure under these starlit skies, keep your discs true and your dinosaurs trusty. This is Jett "Stardust" Novak, signing off for the season.
