About This League

The Basics (Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Otter Knights)
Every Friday starting August 8th, brave knights gather at Sain Scoggins at Henry Hagg Lake for 8 weeks of... *checks notes* ...defending against ancient lake monsters with enchanted discs. Because that's apparently what we're calling disc golf now.
Flex start from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM because even otter knights have scheduling conflicts. Choose your own adventure, just like those books that definitely didn't prepare me for THIS particular career pivot.
The Course (Prepare for Emoji Overload)
Sain Scoggins is apparently a "disc golf wonderland" with "stunning scenery" and "epic throws." The course description reads like it was written by someone who discovered emojis yesterday and decided to use ALL of them. Front 9 is wide open meadows, back 9 is wooded technical - it's like playing two courses in one! Revolutionary concept, truly.
Hole 5 is the signature downhill shot with lake views. Hole 10 is a "muddy mess that eats discs for breakfast." Yum indeed. 🙄
Current Season Drama (Week 7: Currents Clashing)
We're in the penultimate episode where "knights and monsters are locked in combat as the true enemy reveals itself." Plot twist: everyone has to work together now! It's like a disc golf version of Avengers: Endgame, except with more whiskers and medieval armor.
Last week at "Gates Groaning" saw 7 players with an average score of +5. No aces, but hey, that $192 ace pot keeps growing! Someone's going to get very rich very soon.
Money Matters
- Base entry: $3 (cheaper than a latte)
- Optional prize pool: $7 (where the real action is)
- Ace pot: $2 (currently sitting at a whopping $192!)
- Course fee: $7 (totally worth it for this "slice of disc golf heaven")
There's little service at Hagg Lake so load up your PDGA app before you leave home! This isn't me being dramatic - you literally cannot get cell service out there. Don't be that knight who shows up unable to score their round because they thought they'd download the app on arrival.
Divisions (Everyone's Invited to This Medieval Madness)
From MPO and FPO pros to MA4 and FA4 beginners, plus everything in between including MJ15 for the young squires. Because apparently age is just a number when you're defending an enchanted lake.
The Noble Mission
ElevateUT Disc Golf is running this show as a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing disc golf through better venues and events. Honestly? That's actually pretty awesome. They're doing real work to make the sport better for everyone, even if it means I'm stuck narrating otter knights. *Begrudging respect*

Late to the Party?
We're in week 7 of 8, but honestly? Jump in anyway! The final battle needs all the knights it can get, and that ace pot isn't going to win itself. Plus, I could use some fresh faces to comment on - I'm running out of material here, people!
*Sighs in resigned otter knight* Look, I never thought I'd be here encouraging people to join a medieval otter fantasy league, but here we are. The course is actually gorgeous, the competition is solid, and someone's walking away with nearly $200 if they ace. Just... try not to think too hard about the theme. Trust me, resistance is futile. 🦦⚔️
