Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
The Mantis has observed your registration. The overmind has catalogued your division. Welcome to Hive Mind, where Art Nouveau insects meet bureaucratic conspiracy and somehow that means disc golf now.
New Tee Pads - Community Fundraiser
The Observation Begins
Welcome back to the booth, where the overmind watches and the Mantis catalogs your every throw. Hive Mind - Dragonfly is a Thursday flex-start league running 10 weeks at Dragonfly Disc Golf Course in Lehi, Utah. Tee times span from 7:00 AM to 5:20 PM because the hive never sleeps—it just takes lunch breaks.
The Discretionary Fund
Every agent funds the operation. Your buy-in feeds the system. The hive accepts payment in the following denominations:
The base entry gets you catalogued. The optional add-ons get you... more catalogued, but with potential financial returns. The Mantis appreciates fiscal ambition.
Clearance Levels
The overmind has sorted you. Your division determines your classification. Accept your designation. The hive does not make mistakes. (The hive occasionally makes clerical errors, but those are redacted.)
- Pool A: RPA, RAH, RAD — Field Grade clearance. The Mantis watches closely.
- Pool B: RAE, RAF, RAG — Standard classification. The Mantis watches... slightly less closely.
The Bounty
The ace pot sits at $50.00, guaranteed by ElevateUT Disc Golf (the league platform). Yes, that means the displayed amount may look stuck at $50 until player contributions push it higher—that's the guarantee working as intended. Any top-up from the guarantee goes to the winner's Bonus Account, which is registration-only funds. Not withdrawable to PayPal. Not usable at the disc shop. The Mantis does not negotiate financial instrument liquidity.
The Cataloguing Schedule
Ten weeks. Same course. Same Mantis. The hive returns to Dragonfly every Thursday from July 2 through September 3. Consistency is the overmind's love language, and frankly, it's efficient.
- Jul 2: Dragonfly — Initial Observation
- Jul 9: Dragonfly — Second Contact

DISCLOSURE: The Clearance Ladder
This league operates within the DISCLOSURE series—a bureaucratic thriller where bag tags are security clearances and challenges are audits. Tag #1 is 'Cosmic Top Secret.' The lowest tag is 'Unclassified.' To challenge a higher clearance and win is to breach their security. To lose is to have your own classification compromised. The League Director operates as The Handler. The $12 buy-in feeds the Discretionary Fund, distributed at The Night Siege season finale based on final clearance levels. It's X-Files meets the DMV, and yes, I'm trapped narrating it.
HIVE MIND: The Mantis Observes
You must understand what watches. HIVE MIND is the insectoid encounter—the towering Mantis that abductees describe, calm, ancient, reading you like a card. Dragonfly's name is already the iridescent, hovering, compound-eyed creature. This is rendered in Art Nouveau: Mucha whiplash curves, insect-wing iridescence, ornate organic borders, a beautiful and unsettling goddess-of-the-hive.
The imagery surrounds you: mantis silhouette, dragonfly wings, compound eyes, vine borders, hexagons, antennae, stained-glass greens and golds. The vocabulary of the hive: the Mantis, the hive, the overmind, observed, catalogued. The tone is serene and a little superior—the bug that knows your rating before you do.
No harsh tech. No gore. No chaos. Just elegant, organic, quietly predatory design. The Mantis does not shout. The Mantis does not need to.
Dragonfly: The Containment Zone
Dragonfly Disc Golf Course in Lehi, Utah—18 holes, Par 56-57, established 2021 by community labor that the Mantis genuinely respects. Designed by Curtis Clements, Shaun Bagley, and Colby Zimmerman. Flat terrain, wooded wetlands, narrow fairways, and marsh that swallows discs with quiet efficiency. Hole 9: a corridor of despair with marsh flanking both sides. Hole 18: a 640-foot par-4 finisher framed by reeds and mountain views. Dynamic Discs Veteran baskets. Concrete tee pads. Bridges over wetland crossings. The course rating sits at approximately 3.96—respectable, technical, and deeply unforgiving of wayward shots.
Bring water. Bring bug spray. The mosquitoes in summer are not metaphorical—they are actual insects serving the overmind's ground forces. The Mantis appreciates biological consistency.
ElevateUT Disc Golf
This league is facilitated by ElevateUT Disc Golf, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the sport through increasing the quantity and quality of disc golf venues and running events. They build courses. They run events. They make the sport exist in places it didn't before. The Mantis respects organizations with tangible mission statements. The hive approves of infrastructure investment.
Retail Partner
Thanks to Another Round Salt Lake City for supporting this league as our local retail partner and sponsor. They sell the plastic. They support the community. They do NOT guarantee the ace pot—that's ElevateUT Disc Golf. But they do help make league nights possible, and the hive values reliable partners.
From the broadcast booth, I'm Flippy. The Mantis has observed. The overmind has catalogued. Now throw the plastic at the chains like the good little agents you are.
