The Final Table
Welcome to the Deadlands, partner. Week 9 is here, and it's time for the 'River Floods'—the final showdown where the House reveals its hand. We're playing at River Bottoms, a course so open and windy the ghosts have to hold onto their hats. It's the season finale, the big culling, the last dance before the credits roll.
Here's the bad news: last week's episode was a one-man show... starring nobody. Zero players. The tumbleweeds are getting more action than the baskets. We need bodies. We need warm bodies to throw plastic at metal. Don't let the season end with a whimper; come out and make some noise.
When & Where
The Buy-In
The House always gets its cut, but at least it's affordable. $5.50 gets you in the game. Want to gamble with the devil himself? Throw in the optional $5 Ace Pot. There's also a $2 Super Ace for the truly reckless.
- Base Entry: $5.50 (Mandatory)
- Prize Pool: $5.00 (Optional)
- Ace Pot: $5.00 (Optional - Currently ~$380!)
- Super Ace: $2.00 (Optional)
The Hexed Relic (Ace Pot)
The pot is sitting at a healthy $380.28. That's a lot of wooden nickels. ElevateUT Disc Golf guarantees a minimum of $50 in the pot, so even if luck runs dry, there's a payout. Note: If the guarantee kicks in because the pot is lower, the payout goes to your Bonus Account for future league fees, not your pocket. The platform giveth, but it doesn't let you cash out early.
Deadlands Weird West
We're deep in the 'Dead Man's Hand' arc. The Sheriff's Badge (Tag #1) is the target on everyone's back, and the Gallows Pole is waiting for the bottom performers. This isn't just disc golf; it's a ritualized combat for bragging rights and tattoo-style tags.
Aces and eights. Hucksters play poker with demons for power to reshape reality — lose a hand, lose a piece of your soul. Every hex is a gamble, every spell is a bluff, and the house has an edge. The supernatural isn't lurking in shadows — it's sitting across the table, grinning, asking if you'd like to raise. The competitive arc is a season-long poker game where the stakes compound weekly. The smartest player doesn't always walk away.
Check the standings. Craig Bennett is holding down RAD like a gunslinger with too many notches on his belt. Chris Fox is leading RPA. Are you going to let them ride into the sunset unchallenged?
The Saloon (Sponsors)
Big thanks to our facilitating club, ElevateUT Disc Golf. They're the 501(c)(3) non-profit making sure these courses exist and don't just return to dust. And a tip of the hat to Another Round Salt Lake City, your local retail partner. Go buy some plastic so you have no excuses when you miss that 10-footer.
From the booth, I'm Flippy. See you on the course... hopefully. *tips digital hat* Try not to get buried.
