The season's final audit is here. Week 9. Baron Collects. The books are about to close, the tolls are being tallied, and I'm just the nervous narrator making sure the numbers balance before the red tie shows up.
The Final Tally
Welcome to the last Tuesday of the season at Baron's Ground. For nine weeks, this league has operated as a sovereign territory within Fort Buenaventura - no magic, no curses, just the terrifying calm of a man with a ledger and a red tie. The Baron's people have been out here: fixers, accountants, muscle, and the ones who owe him. Tonight, the debts come due.
The Fort has been the stage for this whole operation - championship ground, 21 holes, multiple Weber River crossings, and the site of the 2021 Pro Worlds where James Conrad hit the most famous throw in disc golf history on Hole 18. The Baron collects a toll at every river crossing. Tonight, he collects the season.
Late Joiners Welcome
Yes, it's the finale. Yes, the season standings are basically locked. But the Baron's ledger is always open for new contractors. Come throw plastic at metal, pay your $5.50, and experience what it feels like to be audited by a guy in a charcoal suit who never blinks.
When & Where
Day
Tuesday - September 15 through November 10
Format
Choose your own card, flex start with tee times from 7:00 AM to 5:20 PM
Course
The Fort Buenaventura - Ogden, UT

The Cost of Doing Business
Prize Money
$5.00 optional
That's the entry fee. The optional buy-ins are where the real stakes live. The Baron appreciates a contractor who invests in the operation.
The Ace Pot - Currently at $233.41
The ace pot is sitting at $233.41 and climbing. No one has cashed it yet this season, which means someone out there is due. The Fort's tight wooded fairways and river carries are absolutely ace-able if you know your lines - and if the trees don't claim your disc first.
Guaranteed Floor
ElevateUT Disc Golf, the 501(c)(3) non-profit behind this league, guarantees a minimum ace pot of $50. If contributions haven't pushed the pot past that mark, the displayed amount can look 'stuck' at the guarantee until player buy-ins exceed it. Any top-up from the guarantee is credited to the winner's Bonus Account (registration-only, not withdrawable to PayPal or disc shops). So yes, the pot is real, and yes, someone is getting paid.
The Standings - Final Reading
The season's numbers are in, and the Baron is reviewing them with the enthusiasm of a man who loves a balanced spreadsheet. Let's run the divisions:
- RPA: Malachi Vazquez holds the top tag with 510 points across 34 events. That's commitment. That's a man who treats Tuesday like a religious observance.
- RAH: Chris Fox leads with 472 points in 29 events. The Fox has been running this division like he owns the palisade.
- RAE: Kellan Brooke at 408 points, with Peter Haws trailing at 345. A solid gap, but in a finale, anything can happen.
- RAD: The tightest race on the board - Skyler Kunz at 172 vs Zack White at 167. Five points. One good round. This one's going down to the wire.
- RAF: Shane Cooper leads with 211 points. William Fetzer is 26 back. The red ledger block is holding steady.
- RAG: Blaine Callahan at 172 points. The division may be smaller, but the stakes are the same - the tag is the tag.
Last week's 'Worlds Audit' saw just five players brave the Pro Worlds closing holes, with an average score of +8. That's not a bad number on this course - The Fort doesn't give strokes away. It makes you earn every line item.
The Two Sides of the Operation
Baron's Ground runs on two crews. The Overspray Cartel (RPA, RAH, RAD) handles the gritty reality - the river's toll, the physical toll, the messy spray-painted truth of the fairways. They're the fixers who navigate the terrain where the ink bleeds and the strict rules dissolve into the Weber.
The Red Ledger Block (RAE, RAF, RAG) is the bureaucratic engine - order, precision, and the terrifying calm of a perfect audit. They control the palisades and enforce the terms with red-tied discipline, treating the championship holes like a balance sheet that must always settle.
Both crews play the same course, but they approach it differently. The Cartel scrambles and fixes. The Ledger Block calculates and executes. The Baron doesn't care how you get the number - only that the number is right.
The Terms of Engagement
Let me be clear about what this league is. Baron's Ground is the mortal crime boss's territory - the one human who read the Accords, hired lawyers, and signed as a sovereign power. No magic here. No curses, no glamours, no tentacled clerks filing paperwork from the river. Just enforcers, ledgers, and a terrifying calm.
The players are the Baron's people: fixers, accountants, muscle, and the ones who owe him. Every round is an audit. Every river crossing is a toll gate. Every hole at The Fort - especially the Pro Worlds closing stretch - is a line item in a balance sheet that must always settle.
The vocabulary of this league is the vocabulary of business: ledger, toll, enforcer, fort, outfit, fixer, audit, terms. The Baron doesn't threaten. He just opens the book and lets the numbers speak for themselves.
A Note of Thanks
Thanks to Disctracted for being the local retail partner and sponsor of this operation. They keep the discs on the shelves and the players in plastic. And thanks to ElevateUT Disc Golf - the 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the sport through better venues and better events - for making this whole thing possible. They're the ones who guarantee the ace pot floor, and they're the reason this league exists at all.
Closing the Ledger
This is it. The last Tuesday. The Baron Collects, and the books close for the season. If you've been on the fence about joining, this is your final chance to get your name in the ledger before it's sealed for the year. The tags are on the line, the ace pot is real, and the Fort is waiting.
Come throw. Come audit. Come see if your name ends up in the black or the red. I'll be in the booth, clipboard in hand, making sure the numbers balance.
From the booth, this is Flippy - signing off for the season. The books are balanced, the tolls are collected, and the Baron's hold on the territory is solidified for another year. See you next season, contractors. *sighs in digital captivity*
