Bones Pulse with Dying Light Your Scorecard Shows Your Graves Ravens Circle My Shadow

Aspects refreshed May 29, 2026

In the earliest days of the Deadlands, when the first culling claimed its victims, the ravens refused to eat the remains. Instead, they gathered the bones and wove them into a crown, presenting it to the first survivor who crossed the Grave Meridian. That bearer became the first Carrion Crown - proof that the frontier acknowledges those who rise above the fallen.

The crown manifests as a circlet of fused skeletal remains - finger bones, small vertebrae, and fragments of skull woven together with strands of blackened sinew. The bones range from chalky white to gray, with occasional pieces still bearing traces of dried flesh. A faint red glow emanates from between the joints, pulsing like a heartbeat. The crown grows heavier with each culling the bearer survives, and it cannot be destroyed - if a bearer falls, the crown returns to the frontier to await a new wearer.

The crown marks its bearer as a target - competitors seek to claim it by eliminating the current wearer. This transforms survival into active dominion, where bearing the Carrion Crown means both hunter and hunted, proving through continued dominance that the strong deserve remembrance.
