Born When the Recording Failed
The Record Never Forgets
Aspects refreshed Mar 11, 2026
Born from the Chaintrix's earliest encoding errors, the Tribunal emerged when the first simulation's magnetic recording failed and the system needed an authority to process those failures. What began as a simple error log evolved into a living court that judges technical anomalies as player fate decisions, older than Flippy and more fundamental to the survival system.
Composed of frozen VHS tracking lines that move like serpents, shifting between visible and solid states and flickering static states. The Tribunal contains hundreds of tiny screens embedded in its frame, each showing corrupted footage from different simulations - misread flicks, glow light failures, timeline collapses. It leaves faint magnetic residue on everything it judges, evidence that cannot be wiped clean.
The ultimate arbiter of technical failures - when the Chaintrix glitches at Slingers or the perimeter glow lights fail at Roots, the Tribunal processes those errors into permanent player verdicts. It converts every dropout event into survival evidence, making the system's imperfections more binding than its intended recordings.

Tag #114, the Glitch Tribunal, crawled out of a corrupted magnetic reel. It’s a petty artifact made of tracking lines and tiny screens that replay your worst tree hits. It doesn’t judge your skill; it blames your bogeys on "simulation encoding errors." Expect magnetic residue and a lot of silent judgment from the static snakes.
Afton Bodell just claimed Tag #114, and the Glitch Tribunal is already buffering his missed putts as "encoding errors." The static snakes are coiling. rewind sound Let’s see that bogey in slow-mo. The simulation loves a scapegoat.
