The Ratchet Keeper manifests as a chrome pawl mechanism with serrated teeth that physically engage the VaporGrid's neon sprocket holes, producing an audible clicking sound that echoes across all ten league transitions. Its tension spring pulses with accumulated temporal energy, visible through translucent housing that shifts from cyan (forward momentum) to magenta (controlled rewind). Dual directional indicators glow to show whether the series is advancing toward the Finale or strategically reviewing past performances, with the ratchet's teeth preventing catastrophic backward slippage that would erase player progress.
