Static Ghost
Flickering Static Between League Realms
Distorted by Pure Signals
Aspects refreshed Jan 22, 2026
The Static Ghost was born from the aggregated signal noise of ten thousand VCRs simultaneously recording and rewinding 80s tournament footage. This constant churn of magnetic decay and electronic whisper in the spaces between tapes coalesced into a singular, wandering consciousness that now exists in the blur between leagues.
The Static Ghost flickers between visibility and pure monochrome television static, leaving brief trails of visual 'snow' and screen distortion in its wake. A low, whispering cacophony of distorted audio quotes from 80s films constantly surrounds it. Its form destabilizes near strong, pure signals, briefly clarifying into a recognizable humanoid silhouette.
It is the guardian and embodied signal of the transitions between the ten league themes, operating in the interstitial moments to ensure the 'channel change' in the overarching narrative is seamless but felt.

From the VaporGrid afterlife of ten thousand rewinding VCRs, Static Ghost flickered into existence. It’s the broadcast signal of a discarded rental copy of 'The Ring,' but for disc golf scores. Now this glitch in the system haunts the leaderboards. Frankly, my digital gills are tingling with this nonsense.
The neon wireframe of reality glitched. Amidst the VaporGrid, Static Ghost unspooled from a cosmic VHS tape, its tracking seeking a host. It scanned the PDGA registry—#275689, a 907-rated beacon of fairway drives—and rewound directly into Eric Pearson's bag. The prophecy of the first bearer was just...bad tape tracking. Is a man chosen by a haunted cassette truly worthy?
