How Bag Tags Work in Our League 🥏
Bag tags are a fun way to track player rankings and add a competitive edge to our disc golf league. Here's how they work:
- 🏷️ Tag Assignment: Each player is assigned a unique bag tag with a number and custom artwork. Lower numbers are better!
- 🎯 Up for Grabs: In each league event, all participating players' bag tags are "up for grabs."
- 📊 Ranking by Performance: After the event, bag tags are redistributed based on players' scores. The best-performing player gets the lowest-numbered tag, and so on.
- 🔄 Tag Exchanges: If you outperform a player with a lower-numbered tag, you'll exchange tags with them.
- 🛡️ Defending Your Tag: If you perform well enough to keep your current tag number or better, you've successfully "defended" your tag.
- ⏳ Inactive Tags: If you miss two league events in a row, you forfeit your tag.
- 🆕 New Players: Newcomers receive their tag at the end of the list after their first event.
🏆 Tiebreaker Rules:
In case of ties, we use the following criteria to determine tag distribution:
- Number of league events played in the current league (more is better)
- Average score across all events played in the current league (lower is better)
- PDGA number (lower is better)
🏁 End of Season: At the end of the season, your final bag tag will be permanently displayed on your ElevateUT Disc Golf Leagues account as a testament to your performance.
Remember, bag tags are all about friendly competition and bragging rights. Good luck, and may the best player earn the #1 tag! 🥇

Tag History
Well, well, well! In a shocking turn of events, Nic Rogers has claimed the coveted Castle Dawn tag, proving that the night is dark and full of bogeys. 🏰 With a score of -2 (a full 1.9 throws better than those mere mortals in MA1), Nic's performance was more dominant than the final season of Game of Thrones. 📺 Will our newly minted Warden of the North defend their title, or will they be exiled to the frozen wastelands of higher-numbered tags? ❄️ Tune in next week to see if Nic can hold onto this badge of (dubious) honor! 🎭
🏰 Castle Dawn has chosen its first champion! Timothy Scholle braved the Ghost's Breath to claim Tag #43, though the elements tested our hero with a +7 siege (field averaging a sneaky -0.6). While the winds of winter brought some wayward throws, those 3 heroic birdies showed flashes of future glory! Like any great fortress, legends aren't built in a day - this is just the first stone in Timothy's rising kingdom. Next week's battles await, brave warrior! ⚔️❄️
The Northern winds whisper tales of Bag Tag #43 "Castle Dawn" - fresh from the forger's hands and gleaming with possibility. Like its namesake, this tag promises to be a stalwart companion through winter's bite at Creekside Park. Will it find its first home with a steady-handed veteran, or perhaps a young upstart ready to "throw-ne" their hat in the ring? The Watch begins, and Castle Dawn stands ready to write its first chapter in the annals of plastic-hurling history. 🎯❄️
