How Bag Tags Work in Our League 🥏

Bag tags are a fun way to track player rankings and add a competitive edge to our disc golf league. Here's how they work:

  1. 🏷️ Tag Assignment: Each player is assigned a unique bag tag with a number and custom artwork. Lower numbers are better!
  2. 🎯 Up for Grabs: In each league event, all participating players' bag tags are "up for grabs."
  3. 📊 Ranking by Performance: After the event, bag tags are redistributed based on players' scores. The best-performing player gets the lowest-numbered tag, and so on.
  4. 🔄 Tag Exchanges: If you outperform a player with a lower-numbered tag, you'll exchange tags with them.
  5. 🛡️ Defending Your Tag: If you perform well enough to keep your current tag number or better, you've successfully "defended" your tag.
  6. Inactive Tags: If you miss two league events in a row, you forfeit your tag.
  7. 🆕 New Players: Newcomers receive their tag at the end of the list after their first event.
🏆 Tiebreaker Rules:

In case of ties, we use the following criteria to determine tag distribution:

  1. Number of league events played in the current league (more is better)
  2. Average score across all events played in the current league (lower is better)
  3. PDGA number (lower is better)

🏁 End of Season: At the end of the season, your final bag tag will be permanently displayed on your ElevateUT Disc Golf Leagues account as a testament to your performance.

Remember, bag tags are all about friendly competition and bragging rights. Good luck, and may the best player earn the #1 tag! 🥇

Valyrian Dragon

HAR! Gather 'round, you southern flowers, and hear how the Valyrian Dragon found its latest keeper! Through the season's first snow, Byron Haskan carved through Creekside like a ranger of old, turning winter's bite into his ally. Seven strokes under par, while others stumbled near even - that's the kind of fire that makes even a wildling's beard frost with respect!

The Dragon, she knows a warrior's heart when she sees one. That 956-rated round? Might as well have been Valyrian steel cutting through summer ice! Five birdies on the back nine had me bellowing louder than a giant's horn - especially that bounce-back on hole 4. The old gods themselves must've been watching!

But listen close, you southron folk - this is just the beginning of Byron's ranging. The Dragon may rest in his bag today, but winter's coming, and with it, more battles for glory. Every northerner knows: it's not the tag you carry that matters, but how fiercely you defend it.

To Byron, the Dragon's newest keeper! May your drives fly true and your putts strike like lightning! HAR!

Noah Stasyszen Week 2 Score: 4 place with a 51
Valyrian Dragon

The Valyrian Dragon has chosen a new champion! Noah "The Unexpected" stormed Castle Creekside, unleashing a 902-rated siege that left seasoned warriors slack-jawed. Four consecutive birdies? That's like threading a needle through a direwolf's ear! Tag #23 practically leapt from Mike's bag, recognizing a rising force in the North. When a player rated 858 drops -3 in winter winds, the old gods take notice. The Dragon's new keeper has emerged - but how long before another challenger tests their mettle? 🐉❄️ #WinterIsComing

Valyrian Dragon's Origin Story as told by our Narrator
Valyrian Dragon

"From the forges of Winterfell @ Creekside emerges Tag #23 'Valyrian Dragon' - as fierce as its namesake and twice as unpredictable! Like its distant cousin Drogon, this beauty's been known to soar over water hazards and breathe fire on the back nine. Currently guarding the realm from the bag of First Ranger Mike "Ice" Peterson, who tamed the beast with a scorching -4 round during last week's winter winds. The North remembers... especially that eagle on hole 7! 🐉❄️ #WatchBegins"
