The Smoked Mirror manifests as a barely-visible distortion at the edge of vision - a faint greyish sheen that seems to swallow light rather than reflect it. When players look directly at it, they see only their own nervous reflections; those who catch it in peripheral vision sometimes glimpse darker shapes moving behind the glass. It creates a persistent low hum that sensitive players can detect, though the sound seems to come from everywhere and nowhere. The mirror cannot be destroyed, only temporarily avoided.
