The Ticker Tape originated from the Bureau's earliest operations when they first needed to track player movements across multiple leagues in real-time. The original machine was salvaged from a 1950s teletype station and somehow integrated into the Containment Zone's core systems. Now it operates autonomously, printing an endless stream of documentation that the Bureau uses to monitor all competitive activity.

The Ticker Tape appears as a continuous strip of perforated paper, always moving, never-ending, flowing through the Containment Zone like a ghostly ribbon. It contains text that updates in real-time as players compete across all leagues, documenting scores, movements, and conversations in old-fashioned teletype font. The paper itself is slightly yellowed, like aged official documents from the 1950s, with the perforations of vintage computer tape. Visibility depends on clearance level - those without sufficient clearance see only blank paper, while cleared players witness the full stream of documented reality.

The Ticker Tape serves as the Bureau's primary surveillance mechanism, tracking every player's actions across all leagues in real-time. It creates persistent paranoia because players never know what information is being recorded about them, and whether the Bureau is watching their current round or has already documented their entire competitive history. It is the embodiment of 'Audit Everyone' - the unblinking eye of the system.
